MIS HOSTED A VERY SUCCESSFUL MATH COMPETITION

Week of March 2-6:

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Math Clinic: Tuesday, March 3, 2008 16:00-17:00, RM 120
Classes are cancelled on Friday afternoon due to professinal development.

MATH COMPETITION:
This past weekend, MIS welcomed 170 math students from all over Europe for a math competition. On Satuday, the students competed individually and then in teams from their schools. On Sunday, the students joined teams of students from other schools and set off on "The Sunday Chase" where they ran around the school doing different activities in each room. Everyone had a great time and left tired!

GRADE 9 MATH:
This week we will finish up Simultaneous Linear Equations and move into solving quadratics. Remember the Quadratic formula? It's time to dust it off and put it to good use!

GRADE 12 MATH STUDIES:
We will get getting into the heart of our calculus unit this weekend with further exploration into the first derivative. Remember that calculus is not hard: it's just playing around with slope.

Have a good week!
